‘Hey Pappy’ follows the weird and wacky adventures of Pappy and his boy. Each episode the boy asks his Pappy a pretty regular question for a boy to ask his Pappy. Pappy responds with an eccentric and fantastical story from his past which are not only obvious lies, but also make Pappy out to be a pretty shady character with a dark past.
Aardman were taking pitches for concepts for adult online comedy shorts back in 2018. The brief was very open, they just wanted very original styles and concepts so I came to them with something I’d been developing for fun.
The show was animated using Photoshop for design, Animate for much of the character animation and After Effects for comp & SFX.
